setting the device type in the D&C database

Hi,

I haven’t had any luck in getting the CM discovered devices into D&C db. I had to create an import file using CSV format 3 to get the devices into D&C db. However, they are stored as “unknown Device Type” under System Defined Groups. I want to put these devices in the appropriate groups, i.e. 2950G 24 EI switch. I see where I can do this manually switch by switch, but this would take forever. Is there a better way? Thanks

hai,

No need to do it manually. It automatically updated into corresponding device type once your inventory is collected(depends on your inventory polling and collection schedule).

You do inventory collection immediately and find the devices changed from unknown device type to corresponding device types.
