1. for the central site is LMS able to act as the DHCP server for SI as well? If yes - Is the DHCP service part of the LMS product or does we need to activate the DHCP service from the OS (Windows or Linux)?
Sorry for the late response. The answer is yes. But only if you want to complicate matters. Remember that one of the basic logic behind Smart Install (SI) is that whatever happens in SI stays with SI. You don't want SI traffic to traverse past the VStack Director. Also, the DHCP configuration for SI is totally different.
2. In the end the management vlan need to be different from 1. That means after step-1 the final reboot after the SI zero touch config, the unique IP of the switches should be in the productive management VLAN ready and reachable from LMS for step-2. To achieve this, do we need one SI-group per switch to realize the unique IP per switch assigned into the productive management VLAN not beeing vlan-1? In case of the LMS will be the SI-director as well "connections based" could'nt be an SI-group mapping option, but will MAC-adrdresse work to control the IP assignment of the switches?
Depends on your how new or recent your IOS. Newer IOS can now support the command "vstack vlan X" where X is the preferred VLAN number (instead of VLAN 1).
3. will it be better to use PI2 with autoinstall for achieving step-1?
Not sure. Haven't tried. But I'm suspecting it won't work.
