SNMP MIB IFMIB IFINDEX entry will not clear

Hello

I am refering to Cisco 6509, Version 12.2(18)SXF8 with FWSM with the following modules installed:

Firewall Module                        WS-SVC-FWM-1
SFM-capable 16 port 1000mb GBIC        WS-X6516-GBIC
SFM-capable 16 port 1000mb GBIC        WS-X6516-GBIC
48 port 10/100/1000mb EtherModule      WS-X6148-GE-TX
Supervisor Engine 720 (Active)         WS-SUP720-3B
IPSec VPN Accelerator                  WS-SVC-IPSEC-1

I have deleted a vlan and can find no trace of it on any of the devices, nor is it in a range command anywhere on the device, thus hidden from the sh run | inc 1023 commands.

This is constantly getting picked up by our NM software and on further investigation, using the sh snmp mib ifmib ifindex command it shows up as below:

Vlan1023: Ifindex = 156

Does anyone know why this is as a reboot of this switch is not an option. I cant see any commmands that will get the device to re index or refresh the mib table.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Anthony

Is the 6509 in VTP server, transparent, or client mode? How was the vlan deleted?

beside to what yjdabear said, could you check if "ifindex persist" is configured on the device?
Also, check if there is a file called "ifindex-table" in nvram:

     dir nvram:

Hi

It's in transparent mode.
