I am using Routing and Switching Essentials v.6 by Allan Johnson from Cisco Press to prepare for the CCNA R/S exam. When trying to run Lab 10.2.3.5 Packet Tracer-Configuring Syslog and NTP - I am unable to get S1 and S2 to send messages to the syslog server. The loopback interface on R1 will communicate interface state changes to the syslog server, but not the switches.
Is this a Packet Tracer limitation? I have had other Packet Tracer issues that I solved by unplugging and replacing cables. Does Packet Tracer simulate faulty cables? Any ideas, besides running on physical hardware?

Hi @Tech_fx ,
If the switches are L2, check that the witch have configured the vlan1 interface, as well as the corresponding gateway.
I just generated a lab and the commands shown work in router and switch in PT.
