syslog file is either not there or it cant be accessed

LMS 2.2 (IDU 9) on Solaris 8: Syslog Analyzer starts up and is reported as "Running normally", but reports are empty and in daemons.log there are entries:

The syslog file is either not there or it cant be accessed, name of syslog file is : /var/log/syslog_info

PGM_NM=SyslogaMsg:79:TYPE=CRITICAL::Failed to initialize message source file

But syslog_info exists, permissions and ownership are correct, and syslog messages from managed devices are written to it.

I have run out of ideas why the system says it can't access the file. Any suggestions ?????

1) First, please go to :Resource Manager Essentials > Administration > Inventory > Export to File.

(Save this in both file formats just in case)

2) Before doing the re-init , it is important to back up the rme and syslog database in the following

way:

a). /etc/init.d/dmgtd stop <== Stop all the daemon

b). cd /opt/CSCOpx/databases/rme <== Change to the database directory

c). cp rme.db rme.db.2 <== VERY IMPORTANT!!! Backing up the rme and syslog database

d) cp syslog.db syslog.db.2

3) Clean up the syslog database by doing a RME database re-init.

The following instructions for Re-Initializing the Resource Manager Essentials 3.3 Database.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I think we've found the problem: Syslog analyzer can't handle files bigger than 2 GB. (CSCec52647).
