1- Can I use Syslog as a methods to detect fan fails " I have larg number of cisco 2950 , 3750 " I am install syslog collector in linux system
2- also I need to make syslog send me password authentication failer message

For 1, you need to watch for the equivalent of "FAN-3-FAN_FAILED" applicable to the IOS your 2950 & 3750 are running.
