Telnet to ASA is not working..

Dear all,

This is regarding the telnet issue to ASA.Currently I am able to telnet from inside network to ASA with folowing configuration..

telnet 10.0.2.0 255.255.255.0 inside

Now I want telnet from outside interface but unable to access..

telnet 10.0.5.8  255.255.255.252 outside

telnet 10.10.20.0 255.255.255.0 outside

where,

10.0.5.8/30 is the link to ASA from router and I am trying telneting to ASA from the router.

10.10.20.0/24 is the ip pool for remote access VPN client and here I am trying to telnet from VPN.

But still unsuccessful.So please suggest the correct solution.

Hi,

You cannot telnet a security applicance from the outside.You need to setup SSH, or VPN, or telnet an inside router and then telnet ASA.
