Upgrade IOS on CAT 4500 switch

Issue - tftp'd over the new image.

did the boot system flash etc to update the config

but the old image is still in boot startup.  how do I remove it?

I have tried the

    no boot system flash  etc then end.

    I don't get any errors buts its still in the file.

have you set the new boot variable to boot with new image

 

post  the out put :

 

show boot

 

dir bootflash:

 

or

Make sure you do all the task of upgrading the OS in change window always preferable.

So the old IOS file is still in the flash?
Have you tried deleting this? Maybe the "squeeze" command is needed?
Post the complete output to the command "dir bootflash:".
