Dear Professionals,
I am trying to use SNMP to issue a ping from a switch.
Switch in question is a 4503:
IOS (tm) Catalyst 4000 L3 Switch Software (cat4000-I9S-M), Version 12.2(20)EWA
From the documentation I see that it would support the MIB CISCO-PING-MIB which looks like would/should work here.
Now, I am having trouble figuring out how to do this when I read the contents of the MIB in question. I was wondering if anyone knows of a tutorial that somewhat describes how to set this up?
with kind regards,
Kevin

Thank you mermel. At your link we find a script for HP Openview that describes how to iniate the ping sequence.
This is perfect for me to figure out how it works.
Many thanks.
