Verifying Syslog automated actions

Dear friends,

I have some sylog messages on which i am defining an automated action. I just want to make sure that they are right.

The syslog messages that i want to try are:

1. %BGP-5-ADJCHANGE
2. %BGP-3-NOTIFICATION

Can you tell me if my settings under RME-->Tools-->Syslog-->Automated action is right?

Facility: BGP

Sub-facility: *

Seveirity : *

Mnemonic: ADJCHANGE ,NOTIFICATION

Hi Gautam,

You almost nailed it. Try the following settings instead:

Facility: BGP

Subfacility: *

Severity: 5

Mnemonic: ADJCHANG

Description:*

Facility: BGP

Subfacility: *

Severity: 3

Mnemonic: NOTIFICATION

Description:*

You will need to create 2 separate lines, one for each syslog message type. The above should match the same messages you mentioned.
