2110 in ASA mode need additional licenses and configuration migration

Hi, I'm looking at purchasing dual 2110 to run in HA mode to replace two Cisco ASA 5510's in HA.

Is there any additional licenses needed to run the 2110's in ASA mode?

I assume that depending on the version of version of code I'm running on the ASA 5510's that I can upgraded them to the same version of ASA code that the 2110 will be running and simply upload the config over?

Thanks,

Dan

The only licenses for the ASA that I can think of are the 3DES/AES (free) and licenses to enable more contexts for multi-context mode. If you use AnyConnect, then those licenses would also be required.

The 5510 ASA's only go up to 9.1(x) version while the 2100 comes loaded with 9.8(x) on a new purchase. There are slight changes between these versions, so you may have to upload the ASA 5510 config onto the 2100 and verify if all the commands show up correctly. Don't forget to also transfer any image files from the ASA flash to the 2100 flash.
