On the 4250-SX sensor, I have two monitoring ports.
- Is it possible to use them both at the same time?
- Are there any limitations?
- Is it supported by Cisco?
Many thanks,
Kurt

Yes
- Are there any limitations?
The total bandwidth from the 2 interfaces must be added together when checking performance.
The IDS-4250-SX is rated for 500Mbps so if you receive 350Mbps on the SX card, then only plan on sending 150Mbps to the standard TX sniffing port.
- Is it supported by Cisco?
Yes
SIDE NOTE:
Please do not confuse the IDS-4250-SX with the IDS-4250-XL. The SX has a single SX PCI card, while the XL is a dual SX PCI card with hardware acceleration built into the card.
With the XL both of the SX ports can be used for monitoring (but the standard TX port on the mother board can not).
The combined traffic from both of the SX ports should not exceed the rated performance of the IDS-4250-XL (1 Gbps).
Sniffing off both SX ports of the XL is supported by Cisco.
