Hello,
I have an ASA 5505. I am trying to open ports 8100,8200,8300,12778. I am testing these ports are open from telnet: telnet x.x.x.x 8100 etc.
It fails to connect. However I can telnet to 80 and 3389 just fine.
This is the config line I am using for 3389:
access-list out extended permit tcp any interface outside eq 3389
and
static (inside,outside) tcp interface 3389 192.168.1.2 3389 netmask 255.255.255.255
However these lines will not work for the these ports: 8100,8200,8300,12778?
What could I be doing wrong? Curious why I can telnet to 80 and 3389 just fine but not the others.
Thanks,
Derek

Hi,
Did you make sure the services that are using these ports are working in the host itself? For instance, run telnet using 127.0.0.1 along with port 8100.

Hi,
I suggest you to do a packet-tracer in order to check the issue with the firewall. Telnet x.x.x.x:port will give you the connection output positive when end to end connection is fine. So do a packet-tracer and confirm everything goes well with the firewall.
