ASA stuck on Rommon when reloaded

Hey all, it seems no matter what I do my ASA 5510 is always on rommon mode after every reload. If I type in boot, it comes up fine with no errors but after I reload, it comes back to rommon. I wiped my configuration and using the default config and still the same. I manually added in a line boot system disk0:/imagename and a valid image and no success. What could be the issue? I get no errors indicating it could not find an image or that the image is bad.

Hello,

It sounds like your config register is incorrect.

Try typing in the following when in configuration mode:

config-register 0x1

Then save the configuration and reload.

More information on the config register is here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_command_reference_chapter09186a008063f0e0.html#wp2039675

You can also type 'confreg' in the ASA in rommon and it will prompt you for what options you want as well.

Yes, it was the simplest answer and I can't believe I forgot about that!

Thanks.

Hello after I attempted password recovery, my asa 5510 does not use the saved config and always reloads with the factory default config.

I suspect something is wrong with config register. How can I fix it?

Regards
Rmj
