ASA Switch Ports as Access Ports

I have been reading the ASA Configuration Guide 8.0 and trying to use the command "switchport access vlan 10" under an inteface. Unless I am doing something wrong, why are these commands not available on my device. I'm using Software Version 8.0(4).

This will work only with ASA 5505, that uses leyer 2 interfaces.

All other ASAs will not acept this command.

IF you are trying to set up a trunk use:

interface eth0/0.10

vlan 10

nameif inside
