Hello everybody,
a customer has a ASA5508-X (9.8(4)39) with SFR module (7.0.0.1).
Unfortunaly they don't have the username/password for the SFR module anymore.
Under:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/firesight-management-center/118631-technote-firesight-00.html#toc-hId-1663673883
I read this:
To reset the admin user of the ASA Firepower software module or the ISA 3000 device to the default password, enter this command at the ASA prompt:
session sfr do password-reset
For more information, see the Cisco ASA Series CLI Book 2: Cisco ASA Series Firewall CLI Configuration Guide for your ASA version.
When I use this command I get this:
fw-mtk/act# session sfr ?
console Login to console port on another module.
do Execute a command on another module.
ip Configure Module logging port ip addresses
<cr>
fw-mtk/act# session sfr do password-reset
Invalid do command password-reset
What do I wrong and how can I reset the admin user password for the SFR module?
Every hint is welcome!
Thanks a lot!
R.

that should work as i remember
try other option with session 1 ?
Reset the module password for the user admin to the default:
session {1 | sfr} do password-reset
Use 1 for a hardware module, sfr for a software module.
