Hi Support,

We are having two units of ASA5550 configured one for Active and one Standby respectively.

Issue: We able to launch the Active unit BUT NOT the Standby unit.

Running version

ASA Version 8.2(5)51

boot system disk0:/asa825-51-k8.bin

boot system disk0:/asa822-k8.bin

asdm image disk0:/asdm-645-206.bin

Attached the Java log for your assistance.

Thanks & Regards,

Chua

Do you have one of the ASA's in the Java exception list by any chance? Also, could you try launching the ASDM from the browser using the URL https://x.x.x.x/admin to see if the behavior is different. Ideally both should have the same behavior since the config is replicated on both firewalls. You might also want to check if the ASDM image on the ASA flash is the same on both Firewalls (this is not replicated).

I would recommend using the latest 7.x ASDM release as this is backward compatible with the 8.2(5) release of the ASA also.
