Cisco ASA Failover issue with Appliance and Platform Mode

I am trying to enable active/standby failover which I have done on another pair of Cisco ASAs. But when I attempt to configure it on this specific pair I get the following output.

%ASA-1-105002: (Primary) Enabling failover.

Mate's operating mode (appliance mode) is not compatable with my mode (platform mode).Failover will be disabled.

%ASA-1-105044: (Primary) Mate operational mode (appliance mode) is not compatible with my mode (platform mode).

%ASA-1-105001: (Primary) Disabling failover.

How do I configure these ASAs to get them in the same mode? Thanks!
