I have Cisco 5506X with firepower running  software version - 9.4(1) and Firepower version- 5.4.1.211.

Do I need to upgrade any/both of these to be able to configure captive portal.

If someone can tell me how to setup captive portal or reference to a link.

I want when user login via wifi they should be prompted for user/pass which i will provide on the same login page.

Setup time for 1hr and log the usage. After 1hr they are prompted for login page again.

Hi,

Yes the requirement for the Captive Portal and Active Authentication is to have ASA running 9.5.2 or later  and Firepower module running 6.0 or more.

Hi,

I think you are referring to Cut through proxy on ASA, no you do not need to upgrade.

Please refer to this link:

Thanks aditya but also found this.

Captive Portal and Active Authentication

In order to provide better visibility in mapping users to IP addresses and their associated network events, the Captive Portal and Active Authentication feature can be configured to require users to enter their credentials when prompted through a browser window. The mapping also allows policies to be based on a user or group of users. This feature supplements the existing Sourcefire User Agent (SUA) integration with Active Directory to address non-Windows environments, BYOD users, and guests.

Note: Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services only supports the Captive Portal and Active Authentication feature when running ASA version 9.5(2) or later.

Another clarification. I am using this firewall as internet wifi. So I want users to get captive portal login. Nothing to do with administration of the fw.
