Hi All,
we recently upgraded from 6.3 to 7.2.2 and had an issue with the size of the file.
The file itself was 184k and contained approximately 4000 lines. The release notes specify the file can be 1mb. Does anyone know how the system calculates the size?
TIA.

The file size is calculated based on the lines of code and the number of characters in each line. Its normal for a config file to be greater in size for version 7.2 than it was for version 6.3.

The answer is: it depends.
I once have about 400k lines in the pix configuration on a Pix535 with 256MB RAM and
the pix could not function. At 1GB RAM,
I can load about 600k lines of configuration
before the pix becomes really slow.
