Configuring a PIX via TFTP - the documented method doesn't work. PIX v6.0(1)

Version 6.0 & 6.1 of the doc reference the "configure net" command i.e. configure net 10.1.1.1:/tftp/config/pixconfig

V6.0 doc - http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_60/config/commands.htm#xtocid605013

and

v6.1 doc http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_61/cmd_ref/c.htm

Examples...

pixfirewall# conf net :

usage: configure terminal

pixfirewall(config)# conf net xxx

Invalid tftp-server setting:xxx

It appears that the conf net command is syntax checked, as per the 2nd example, but neither work. Is the command supported?, or is the documentation incorrect?

your comand is ok probably that can be problem of the file path.

or

if the tftp is on outside interface then sufficient permission required

configure net []:[]

it should work

Hi,

just go into enable mode and issue this command:

configure net 10.1.1.1:/backup/config.txt

In this example the ip address of the tftp server is 10.1.1.1 and the configfile config.txt is stored in the folder backup.

Kind Regards,

Tom
