errSystemError-idspackagemgr when trying to apply new License

Hi,

I am trying to apply an IPS license to AIP modules and I receive the following error.

"Can not upgrade software on the sensor

errSystemError-idspackagemgr:digital signature of the update file was not valid, use CCO to replace the corrupted file."

I have tried downloading the file again and even tried a temporary license but receive the same error.

I am trying to upgrade via the IDM browsing to a local file path.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Hi Stuart,

From which part of IDM are you trying to install the license?

Is it from Configuration > Sensor Management > Licensing?

If so, could you put the license on an FTP server and try with the copy ftp://... license-key command?

Regards,

Nicolas

OK,

I am now getting something slightly different when trying to add the license.

failed to update license on Sensor

errInvalidlicense-The license key on the system is invalid.

I have tried a purchased licensed file and also a temporary license file

I am trying the update via configuration\sensor management\licensing

Thanks

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

A couple of things you can check:

1.) Can you open the license with a text editor and make sure that the SN inside it is the same as the one of your AIP?

2.) Could you do the same with the PID? Make sure the one in the license matches the one of your device?

3.) If that is the case, can you tell me which version you are running? The license format was changed between 5.1 and 6.0 so you might need to upgrade your device f you are still running old software with a new license.

Regards,

Nicolas

Thanks for that.

I have managed to sort it.  I went to upgrade from Cisco.com and that seemed to do it.  It is a bit strange that it would not work from the file though.

Thanks for all your help

Stuart
