Firepower Management Center virtual - Unable to download product updates

HI

I have a strange issue on my  Firepower Management Center virtual.

As shown attached picture, our FMC running software version 6.4.0.10

He has a normal internet connection configured, and is registered with it's smartnet contract.

I can install product update manually by downloading from cisco and uploading to the device and FMC it self.

I want to upgrade from current version (6.4.0.10) to last one 6.6.1 by using the Download updates botom.

Unfortunately, when i use this, despite the fact that new updates are available, the FMC says: No new updates currently available.

Hi @nguessankmatt 

Download of a Major release is not supported, only patches.

You will need to download the package from the cisco website and upload.

Hi Rob,

Our FMC won't even download Patches.

FMC is currently running 6.6.4 (patch manually uploaded) but does not load the Patches for our Firepower Devices still running 6.6.3.

Do you know what rules the download mechanism is following there? Does it respect the "suggested release" Stars on the Cisco Download Page?

The first and second ordinals comprise the major release number. The third ordinal is the minor release. Fourth is the patch.

Thus 6.6.3 to 6.6.4 is a minor release update - not a patch.

A patch would be something like 6.4.0.11 to 6.4.0.12.

Both major and minor releases need to be manually downloaded to your computer and then uploaded to FMC.
