I need upgrade a FMC 2500 from version 6.4.0.13 to version 6.6.1.91; the release notes of 6.6 is not clear if need upgrade before to 6.6.0 after to pass to version 6.6.1.91.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/660/relnotes/firepower-release-notes-660/compatibility.html

Some one how can help me and comment about the correct upgrade path.

One question more; version 6.6.0 is base or mayor version, but 6.6.1 is a patch version or another mayor release.

as per my knowledge

you need to upgrade to

6.4.X  >>>>  6.6.0  >>> 6.6.1.91

Make sure you check the compatability list of FTD.

6 is the major version.

6.6 denotes the minor version.

6.6.1 is a maintenance release.

The -91 (not .91) denotes the build number.

Side note - why upgrade only the 6.6.1 and not 6.6.7 at least? Ideally you would get all your sensors (managed devices) up to at least that version and then upgrade the FMC to 7.0.4.

Hi Marvin, the version 6.6.1 because the minimum release to integrate some new devices, but you are right 6.6.7 is a better option to upgrade; and in this moment 7.0.4 can wait because we have another device on 6.2.3 but need to do other priorities now; but is part to short future. Thanks a lot for your comments.
