FMC: Unable to upgrade ASA5516-X to rel. 7.0.6

Hello everybody,

today I've tried to upgrade two ASA5516-X from rel. 7.0.0.1 to rel. 7.0.6.

In the download section of the ASA5516-X I just found two upgrade files
but non of them worked:

Cisco_Network_Sensor_Upgrade-7.0.6-236.sh.REL.tar
and
Cisco_FTD_Upgrade-7.0.6-236.sh.REL.tar

I downloaded the Cisco_Network_Sensor_Upgrade and tried
a Readiness Check as usual but it failed with the error (see attached):

****************** FAILURE SCRIPT: 1 ***********************************
[240207 12:51:40:489]
SCRIPT NAME: 000_start/000_check_platform_support.sh
RECOVERY MESSAGE: Platform architecture x86_64 is not supported. Supported architecture(s) are i386.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Then I tried the Cisco_FTD_Upgrade and I immeditely got the error message (see attached):

"No valid appliances available for Cisco FTD Upgrade 7.0.6-236"

I am something stumped how to upgrade the ASA5516-X.

Do you have any idea?

Thanks a lot for every hint!

Bye
R.

The file Cisco_FTD_Upgrade-7.0.6-236.sh.REL.tar is the correct one.

The link provided by @marce1000 has the fix for the error you are most likely encountering.

Hi Marvin,

thanks for the hint!

I checked the workaround but on this ASA5516-X here is no upgrade.lock file:

root@fw-nwb-pri-ips:/Volume/home/admin# ls -l /tmp/upgrade.lock
ls: cannot access '/tmp/upgrade.lock': No such file or directory

Should I rename the /ngfw anyway and retry the Readiness Check?

Thanks a lot!
