Hi Guys,
I would like to check if we really cannot use PAK licenses for ASA in FP2100 firewalls?
Another thing is, I tried also to generate a permanent license reservation (PLR) but I am failing. It states that "The licenses cannot be reserved because the Virtual Account does not contain a sufficient surplus of the following perpetual licenses: Firepower 2100 ASA PERM UNIV".
Even though I am seeing this error when trying to generate a PLR license, I can see that I have enough quantity of my Standard License in the Inventory.
Do you have any idea what could be the issue?
Thanks

ASA running on firepower hardware appliance (and ASAv for that matter) exclusively uses Smart licenses. So no PAKs are possible.
PLR requires that the account be authorized for that feature by Cisco.

Hi @Marvin Rhoads , how can we enable the PLR and will this free-of-charge? Lastly, if I have 3 licenses for example, standard license, context license, and anyconnect apex license and I requested for a PLR license, will the 3 licenses be combined into 1x license? thanks

I believe the PLR feature needs to be approved by your Cisco Account Manager. There's no charge for it but they don't just allow it for anybody who asks. It's designed for use in secure government or other critical infrastructure systems that do not allow Internet access for Smart Licensing.
