FTD 1140 6.4 "ERROR: Memory allocation failed"

Hi,

our Costumer has the following Config:

2x FTD 1140 with 6.4.0.11 (HA) on FMCv  6.7.X

I am unable to Deploy. It always ends in an Deployment Error like this.

ChecksumFaild: "the checksum that was received from lina does not match the one received from ccm"

The logging shows "Memory allocation error" and the CLI shows the Memory usage like this.

ERROR: Memory allocation failed

> show memory
Free memory: 400083130 bytes ( 7%)
Used memory: 5132045704 bytes (93%)
------------- ------------------
Total memory: 5532128834 bytes (100%)

Rebooting the Primary FTD fix the Memory allocation error and Deployment is working again for some weeks.

The HA is broken apart.

Rebuilding the HA does not work.

I also did a reimage of the Secondary FTD.

But HA does not finish properly.

High Availability
High availability configuration synchronization is taking longer than expected on HA-NAME. Click the
Force Refresh HA Node Status icon for HA-NAME after a few minutes to get updated high availability
status.

I tried to do the following steps:

Break HA

Reimage the Secondary FTD

Update Secondary to 6.4.0.11

Build HA

HA Sync NOT successful !

Show failover history ->

"CD App Sync error is Cluster file copy failed"

Secondary Faild

"Failover Off (pseudo-Standby)"

show high-availability -> "Secondary - Failed"

Force HA Sync didn't work

Try rebooting both FTD when you have a maintenance window, also try to upgrade to the latest version of FTD, some memory tweaks are done in the latest version.

hi,

thanks for the Reply.

Reboot helps just to solve the deployment Problem with the Primary Active Node.

Re-Building the HA did not work.

I will try to Upgrade but I need a Maintenance Window on the Customer Side.

sure and let us know the outcome.
