How to obtain netmods Serial numbers from th sourcefire 8120

Hi,

My customer would like to buy an smartnet total care contract for his Sourcefire 3D8120 now called Firepower. The customer has intalled networkd modules but doesnt know the serial number of this modules.

How can we obtain this serial numbers from the Defense Center (now firesight).

Hi

Login to the device via CLI and use this

less /tmp/scmd_vpd.log

The netmods will be listed in order alphabetically by slot. Use this formula to calcualte the serial no.

Manufacturer Code + First two part_number Segments + Serial_number

Get into root mode and then run the command.

>sudo su

enter the password and then enter command.
