IDS MC unable to update NIDS signature

Hi,

I am unable to update new signatures to our IDS (IDS4215 and IDS4235) using IDS MC version 1.2.3. Previously we've been doing it through IDS MC and it worked fine. But nowadays this has stop working - we can still perform the job at the IDS MC, but doing a sh ver on the IDS console shows that no signature updates were done. Doing it through the manual method (using upgrade command via CLI and *.rpm.pkg) works though. Anyone have any clues on why this is happening, and how i can fix it?

If possible delete the sensor and re-add it and check the status.

Hi All,

I've done this procedure, but it still doesn't work.

When I re-add the sensor to the MC 1.3Mb Bytes are exchanged and all looks good. When I apply a new signature, it looks like MC tries to connect, 12kB are exchanged - obviously not the entire signature, and then nothing happens. The sensor is recorded in MC with the new signature version, but if I check the sensor it has still the previous version.

Updating the sensor signature manually works without any trouble.

Any help would be appreciated.
