Hi

i am using a usb to copy the image on the ASA 5525-X with that command

copy disk1:/asasfr-5500x-boot-6.2.2-3 disk0: and the copy passed.I very on the disk0 and i see the the image.my question is that will the image asasfr-5500x-boot-6.3.0-3.img be compatible with ASA 9.8 on ASA model 5525-x?

in the matrix they said that 6.2.2 firepower version is compatible with ASA 9.8.

ciscoasa# sw-module module ips shutdown
ciscoasa# sw-module module ips uninstall
ciscoasa# reload
ciscoasa# sw-module module sfr shutdown
ciscoasa# sw-module module sfr uninstall
copy disk1:/asasfr-5500x-boot-6.2.2-3 disk0:
ciscoasa# sw-module module sfr recover configure image disk0:/asasfr-5500x-boot-6.2.2-3
ciscoasa# sw-module module sfr recover boot
the module is in recovery mode and no respond to session.

the show module sfr details output show that  session is ready but when i try to execute session sfr console the session crashes and i am no longer to open console session until i restart the ASA.

Appologies for the delay -

I am sure we missing some steps here, we need to do step by step by approach before we get in to next step.

Please confirm, did you try any other version 6.3.X  before you move to 6.2.2 - there are some issues around (but not encountered by me).

Connect the console - start capture the logs :

#sw-module module sfr uninstall
#debug module-boot   <---- this will help you to identify the issue what going wrong.
#sw-module module sfr recover configure image disk0:asasfr-5500x-boot-6.2.2-3.img
#sw-module module sfr recover boot

#session sfr console

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Not long ago I faced an issue with Cisco Firepower module. The upgrade failed and when I tried to rebuild SFR, different errors were showing up preventing me from going any further. Based on Cisco documentaion you will need 3GB of diskspace to deploy a new SFR and that was exactly the problem ...

Hello

I haven't try 6.3.X because i am not sure if it is compatible with ASA version 9.8 for the model 5525-X.

just checking, follow the instructions, and enable debug (so we can know what is the error or post errors)

let us know when you have the information to understand the issue.
