Is NTP Server support is planned in future releases of PIX Software?
Thanx

I would tend to doubt it. No need to run more services on your firewall

I agree that because this is a security appliance, the least amount of non-essential services running is best.
However, in certain situations, it seems to me an NTP might be a good idea. For example, in small businesses with limited budgets, a GPS/RF NTP server is often not justifyable and instead, since the PIX obtains its time (if configured) from Internet NTP servers, why not setup the PIX NTP server onto the inside interface?
I am not familiar with this enough to say for sure if security would be compromised by such. However, I would tend to prefer not having to open ports to let NTP traffic through the PIX.
Can someone enlighten me?
