PIX 515-R to UR and Fail over

Hi all,

i have a pix 515-E Restricted model i want to use it for a failover scenario.

restricted bundle normally wont support

fail over rt? i need to upgrade it to unrestricted bundle rt.

please give me the procedures required for that, do we need to pay any amt to cisco.we are not channel partner so please give me the exact procedures for this.

Hello,

Yes you will have to pay more for the license upgrade. Contact a channel parter to purchase the license upgrade they'll then send you a certificate which you will inturn use to get an activation key for your PIX from Cisco's licensing website. This activation key depending on which Pix os your running will either require you to do a partial upgrade or to enter it straight in.
