Hi,
I have a pix506 setup working well now (thanks for the help!) but I have been requested to allow command line ftp out from client machines. Is there a special way of doing this?
Would I also need to create an access-list to allow ftp returns back in - I assume not??
Many thanks for your time.
cheers

if you have not restricted "outbound" access using access-lists then all you would need is "fixup protocol ftp 21".

If you don't have a access control list on your inside interface, FTP should work fine. Make sure that 'fixup protocol ftp 21' is configured.

Can't understand why it wasn't working originally but it is now.
Thanks very much again.
