I am running OS 6.4(3) on a PIX 515e, with 64MB RAM. Windows XP Workstations behind the firewall, Oracle Server in front. Browser on workstation using port TCP: 8006 cannot hit server. Does the PIX have any issues with this port? I know very little about port 8006. I found a blurb on the internet: SQL Relay server will listen on inet port 8006 and unix socket /tmp/mysqltest.socket. IT IS NOT A REGISTERED PORT!!
Thank you

By default all outbound traffic is permitted out and the response traffic is allowed back in. If the Oracle server is responding from a source port of 8006 it should work.
Turn on logging:
logging buffered debug
logging on
and try the connection again, the 'show log' this should give you some information on what is happening.

Another colleuge suggested putting an ACL for that specific port, and server address. I am kind of skeptical because it is wide open right now. What do you think?
