As far as I know, pix 515E cannot function as any client, only as server, e.g it cannot be a vpn client. Only 501 and 506 can be clients. You can find more info in the command reference guide, under vpnclient command

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2120/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00801727ae.html#wp1048520

It should also apply to the PPTP

Hello,

I was wondring if it has become available with any newer firmware. I am trying to connect office network to a cloud provider network via PPTP. Any advice anyone?

Thanks.

Andri

Hi Bro

The Cisco PIX firewall cannot act as a PPTP client, only PC/laptops in general can act as a PPTP client. The Cisco PIX can act as a PPTP Server though, if running on version 7.x and later. You could also refer to the comments made by Jennifer Halim (Cisco TAC engineer) in this URL https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3207224

You might wanna explore other solutions. SuSEfirewall2 (software based firewall) supports PPTP client configuration http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/howto-suse-100.phtml
