hi
i have a question,i have a pix 501.Now on the inside interface can we have both public ip+private ip's.
internet<-->router<-->pix 501<-->(public ip+private ip)
Pleas tell me how it can be done if possible.

Its not possible to have both Public/private behind the Inside interface as the PIX doesnt support the secondary addressing concept.
If you have another port (which is not the case with 501) u can assign the public ip to that other free port.

Option 1:
You will need a layer 3 device(could be a switch) before the pix to achieve this. However this will introduce an additional hop.
Option 2 (recommended): use private ips internally and for the host requiring public ips use static NAT on the pix.
