Hi people,
Is there any IDS full version in order to install it in a PIX, ( a new version or something like that)?, I do not found it, or only its default IDS version exist.
If not,....Then, does it mean, must I to install it only on the border routers? ( to Internet)
For sure I can use a 35xx but, money is important.
any help, link, comments?
Thanks in advanced

Hi,
We have not released any new IDS signatures in the PIX 6.3 code, I am not sure of the code you have .
You cannot add any new signatures as such in PIX, all are enabled by default.
We have added some new signatures in the IOS code of 12.2.15.T, you can look at that at the following link.
Thanks

Hi Martin,
The IDS implementation on a PIX or a router is a "small" subset of the actual IDS solution that Cisco has in the form of the 4200 series appliances.
Just so that you can get an idea, here's the comparision of the signatures that are available on each implementations;
IDS appliances ------- >750 signatures.
PIX IDS ----------------- approx. 70
Router IDS -------------- approx. 100 signatures.
So as you can see, there won't be a "Full IDS" implementation on the PIX or the router anytime soon.
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
yatin
