Port Security

So I am try to add this configuration 

switchport mode access
switchport port-security
switchport port-security maximum 1
switchport port-security mac-address sticky
switchport port-security violation restrict

To my Packet Tracer lab however whenever I do it seems to disable my inter vlan routing 

and doesn't work as port security although I see no reason for it not to work??

I resolved the issue a few minutes ago thank you I removed switchport mode access

as the port was already an access port for the vlan

and added this it worked 

switchport port-security
switchport port-security maximum 1
switchport port-security mac-address sticky
switchport port-security violation restrict
