I am assuming I am missing something slight. I have my pptp access rule allowing outside inside on pptp -- I also have a nat rule that says pptp traffic should be directed to server 10.1.10.11 (VPN Server) ... Yet my VPN connection is getting denied. Windows trouble shooter says the host is replying that it's alive, but is denying the connection. Any ideas based on my config? This is a Cisco ASA 5505 v8.2

You need to allow GRE (IP protocol 47) as well. Unfortunately you can't port-forward GRE, so your PPTP server needs a dedicated IP for a 1-to-1 NAT.

Mike

Mike,
To be honest I am pretty new to this. I had the VPN working, until I changed the IP of the server to outside the DHCP scope so it would remain static. Only after that change, I deleted the PPTP server object, added a new pptp server object, and pointed the rules that used the old object to the new object.
That being said, according to my config I am allowing GRE correct?
If you look at my config what exactly needs to change to get this fixed?
