Questions to FMC 1600 CIMC HotFix installation

Hello everybody,

I have been tasked to install the BIOS Update HotFix FC 7.4.99.99-1 on a FMC 1600 running rel. 7.4.2.1.

I have never done this before and did not find a step-by-step guide.

My questions:

1. Is there a guide for this task?

2. Is it necessary to have access to the local serial console or can this be done from remote?

Upgrade Procedure through FMC for Firepower Devices

It is always a good practice to have someone available with serial cable in case something goes wrong. If you have Cisco support, open a proactive case.

With a hardware FMC, ideally you have CIMC access as a backup but it is rarely needed. Do make sure that you have the local admin account credentials and can access FMC via ssh as well as the GUI in case troubleshooting is required (happens in less than 10% of cases in my experience but not something to bet on NOT happening).
