srf (re)configure manager after restore FMC

We restored our virtual FMC on new/faster hardware, and changed the IP address. Now I want to migrate the ASA devices with sfr one-by-one from the current FMC to the new FMC.  Is there a way in expert mode to change the FMC ip-address in sfr without configure manager delete, and configure manager add etc. ?

Hi,

You have to delete the old entry and add the new management center. You cannot just change the ip address.

That's what I feared, and for this reason the following steps are necessary when moving a device from FMC1 to a new FMC2 with a restore of FMC1.

1) on original FMC1

delete device X

2) on ASA X with sfr (session sfr)

configure manager delete

configure manager add [IP new FMC] cisco123

3) on new FMC2 (with restore from original FMC1)

delete device X

add device X

4) on original FMC1

delete classic license

5) on Cisco license admin portal

rehost license for new FMC2 license key

6) on new FMC2

add rehosted license
