Static ARP in ASA / IP and MAC Binding

Hi Experts,

Good Day!

I've researched that in ASA it is possible to do an IP-to-MAC binding via configuring static ARP entry. I would like to ask if it will still work even though ARP inspection is not enabled and the DHCP is not in the firewall itself but rather it is located in other external server.

Thanks,

niks

Hi,

Yes , it will still work as the ASA device will not populate any other MAC address for that IP address in the static entry.

It will be irrespective of the Arp inspection and DHCP configuration.

Thanks and Regards,
