@a.aljiledi no, sorry I wasn't exact earlier. The TMC license for a 2110 is specific to that model. Cisco charges different prices for the licenses based on the throughput of the device. Otherwise everybody would buy the $200 licenses for the Firepower 1010 and use them instead of the $200,000 licenses for their Firepower 9300 (just an example - those are not the not real prices).

FTD uses Smart licenses. So if you are managing it locally currently, deregister the Smart licenses from FDM. They will then be available in your portal to be assigned by FMC to another device (or the 2110 if you start managing it with FMC).

n.b. license@cisco.com is being deprecated in favor of the TAC. You cannot open licensing cases with them directly via email anymore.

Thanks for replay,

so i can use the license attached for FTD2110 to FTDv. is that correct?

Good to know  to know - but i had recently had issue some License, License@cisco.com still worked, may be case to case different here i guess.

but noted your views. (smart License is automated and bit pain for the first users)
