  • Unable to authorize access. If you continue to have difficulty accessing this device, please contact the system administrator.

Have erased config 5 times, waited the hour for the system to reboot. 'connect ftd' and local management. I have changed my password to 5 different things. Nothing I do;

I have never encountered this kind of issue before. What is the version of FTD by the way?

Maybe check the keyboard layout (I found this ESXi console used the USA keyboard, and I used the UK keyboard), especially if you're using special characters.

i am sure you come across this document, just in case (not)

It is 7.3.1.19. It was/is a fresh 'erase' reboot several times...

Default login admin/Admin123..

I change it to TestPassw0rd, Admin123! I did like 5 other ones... It works for the CLI/Console but the GUI gives that message 100%

I am using 7.4 testing in my lab, and unfortunately, I can not simulate the issue.

Let me know if you're changing the password using GUI or CLI? I suggest trying cli and testing it.

After changing the password, try clearing the cache or using another browser to test it.

Or look at the logs in the CLI when it fails to see what error you see on the logs.

Note: on the GUI, have you tried the old password, does that work? (after changing the password ?)

I'm thinking that after the re-image, your FTD is offline and for that reason you should follow this steps to change the admin password: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/2100/troubleshoot_fxos/b_2100_CLI_Troubleshoot/b_2100_CLI_Troubleshoot_chapter_011.html#id_71972
