Dear

According to the document ( https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/anyconnect-secure-mobility-client/116312-qanda-anyconnect-00.html#anc8), AnyConnect will attempt to reconnect if the connection is disrupted.
Is there any definition about connection is disrupted or it jsut means phyical connection is lost?

can you more elaborate ?

Once an AnyConnect client is connected to the AnyConnect VPN headend it will remain connected until one of the following happens:

  • There is a issue with ISP or link towards the ASA or FTD causing network outage or instability for the device
  • There is an issue with the network at the client side causing a network outage or instability for the client PC
  • The ASA / FTD administrator kicks the AnyConnect user off of the VPN connection
  • AnyConnect configuration changed on the ASA / FTD (There are some configurations that can be changed without affecting connected users)

Generally speaking the main reasons for AnyConnect to try to reconnect is due to issues with connectivity.  Once an AnyConnect user is connected to the VPN the users tends to stay connected even if minor changes are made to the configuration and would need to disconnect and then reconnect to have those changes take effect.
