I'm planning an upgrade of a ASA 5510 and normally I would have just gone for the latest release in the 8.2 train e.i. 8.24 but now I noticed there is a 8.2.4 interim release in the dowmnloads. Thing is there is no release notes for it. Anyone that has information why it's released for public download?

There normaly won't be release notes for any interim releases. Also interim release is typically to fix specific bug/caveat, so it's not recommended to run interim release unless you are hitting any specific bug and Cisco TAC requested to run the interim release.
If you would like to upgrade the ASA version to the latest release, I would suggest that you upgrade it to the general release of 8.2.4, as that version would have been QAed by engineering prior to the release to public.

Hi,
That is true, Just adding one link which has information about this.
Here is a link for TAC security podcast which covers this information, this podcast is mainly for failover but in initial few minutes (starting from 4th minute approx.) there is discussion about ASA software releases.
