When using the "fixup protocol SMTP 25" command you tell the PIX to just accept standard SMTP-commands.
Now when many uses ESMTP, would it not be possible to integrate support for this in the pix (i.e fixup protocol ESMTP 25) ?
Do anyone know if Cisco is planning support for this ?
Best Regards

at this time there are no plans to expand fixup support to include ESMTP commands in the near future, the reason being that ESMTP is not part of the original SMTP RFCs.

OK. To bad as many vendors uses ESMTP more frequently, and that you have to disable the fixup support for SMTP in the PIX on a lot of customer sites.
Thanks for you reply !

YES, I does not use SMTP mail guard because I have a mixed maket of SMTP/ESMTP mail servers.
CISCO are very wrong to not adapt PIX mail guard for ESMTP
