disruption of vpc heartbeat connection

want to move the vpc heartbeat connection of a N9K pair from a L2 switch to a direct cable.
To my understanding -as long as the peer link is up- a disruption of the heartbeat link should not affect any traffic to the connected hosts.
Is this correct? Or do I need a maintenance window for this?

as I mention before the traffic will not effect by keepalive down

but you need to reconfig it ASAP

There is nothing happened to traffic but you need to be fast'

And it better done this in maintenance window.

The keepalive is not only use for heartbeat but also for exchange mgmt/control traffic between two vpc NSK.

If you want I will make small lab test down keepalive and share details about interface and vpc status.

But I am sure it not effect.
