I have a customer who added a number of nexus devices into NSO. However, when he did check-sync on some devices, it would take more than 15 minutes to complete. He's not too happy about it. I know we recently improved IOS ned to optimize the check-sync performance. Does anyone know if the NEXUS NED is going to have a similar improvement?
thanks,
Yang

Hi,
Usually these optimisation are under ned-settings for the respective device/ned-type.
The default is to take a hash. Anything better is platform dependent.
For nexus, I see there is an option of "device-command" which allows the use of a custom command to ascertain changes to config:
admin@ncs(config-device-n7k1)# ned-settings cisco-nx-transaction trans-id-method
Possible completions:
config-hash Use a snapshot of the running config for calculation (default)
device-command Use a device-side command to get a value to use for trans-id
admin@ncs(config-device-n7k1)# ned-settings cisco-nx-transaction trans-id-method
Would this help?

Thanks, Bilal. I will ask the customer to give it a try.
