So the problem here is this.
Right now I am trying to use OpenDNS as well as a host from No-IP.com. Trying to keep both of them updated is somewhat of a pain. The largest problem is, any attempts to keep OpenDNS updated through software installed on a computer, is that all one has to do to bypass that is shutdown the computer the program is on (even if the password to it is not known) and then restarting the browser. Now suddenly OpenDNS is using a diffrent IP address than my house is. If I decided to install the software on EVERY computer, one could uninstall the software on their personal computer and shutdown any of the others, and again OpenDNS now has a seperate IP address.
The obvious solution seemed to be DNS-O-Matic. Unfortunately, after putting over 18 hours into trying to get this program to work, and still not managing to even once get my my D-link DIR-826L router to make a solid connection, I've began to realize I may be out of my league, and have become pretty suspscious my router does not support DNS-O-Matic. I've been on the D-Link support forms as well, and they directed me to call the D-Link directly, to see what I can find.
I figured I would come here first and see what all my options were as well.
So, my router doesn't seem to want to contact DNS-O-Matic. Any other attempt to contact it (IE manually, or the update url) Work wonderfully, and everything behaves just as it should. My router WILL on the other hand though, contact No-IP.com, and will update my host name I've set up with them.
This is kind of a long shot, and I apologize if it's somewhat of a stupid question (I am still somewhat of a novice when it comes to networking...) but is there anyway to set up the IP address I see when I am the settings tab of my Open DNS dashboard to be the host name I use from No-IP.com? My router will update that.
It is more round about that way, but it still prevents the update client from residing on any of the computer, and locks it down into the router, which would be worth it to me.
If not, are there any other sorts of options like this open to me? Could a host name or a URL somehow be used for DNS-O-Matic? Either directly or through another 3rd party tool?
I'd considered flashing my routers firmware, but unfortunately, my router doesn't seem to support that either ...
Anyways, thanks for all the help you have all given me before, and for taking the time to look at my question. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated

This same questions has been asked in many different threads in this forum before, and you are encouraged to look for them and read the details. In fact you are encouraged to search this or any forum before posting a new question. The short answer is that OpenDNS does not accept updates based on hostname, and only accepts IP address updates from a device on the local network. It does not accept IP updates from 3rd party services.
The IP address registered for your network will not change just by crashing the updater and opening a browser. There has to be something that thinks it is a part of your network that is sending updates from a different IP address. You should track that down, and probably change your password in case there is a device out there that you can't remember that is running the updater and changing your IP address when it connects to a different network.
If the D-Link support forum suggested you contact D-Link directly you should do that. After all, it is their product, if something is wrong with their firmware they are more likely to know about it than someone on this forum.
I don't know that particular router, but many router firmwares have options for DNS-O-Matic in their DDNS section. The rest usually have the proper configuration choices that you can configure everything properly. The DNS-O-Matic website will have all the information you need to do that, but you can also check one of the threads here to confirm if all of your settings are correct. Also you should check that your router is using the latest firmware available for it.
